While Lucasfilm called the photos featured on GQ magazine 'inappropriate,' Hamill who plays Luke Skywalker says he 'got excited' when he saw the pictures.

AceShowbiz - Mark Hamill has weighed in on Amy Schumer's "Star Wars" GQ spread after Lucasfilm slammed it. The actor, who will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", took to Twitter on Saturday, July 18 to express his approval of the controversial photo shoot.

"Got excited when I saw @amyschumer @GQMagazine pics & thought she was just cast in Ep 8!" so Hamill wrote, adding, "We should be so lucky." His response clearly contradicted Lucasfilm's reaction.

The company which is now owned by the Walt Disney Corporation previously released a statement following the release of Schumer's "Star Wars"-themed racy shots for GQ magazine. "Lucasfilm & Disney didn't approve, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner," the company said in a tweet on Thursday.

The studio also said through their public relations representatives, "It's not surprising that GQ would want to capitalize on the cultural cachet of 'Star Wars', but Lucasfilm and Disney did not authorize, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner."

The controversial pictures feature Schumer making some suggestive poses. The "Trainwreck" star sucked C3's finger on the magazine's cover and shared a bed with C3 and R2-D2 in another image. The comedienne also posed with Chewbacca in a photo for an alternate version of the cover lines written by Schumer herself.
