The 'Drive Angry' actress is summoned to appear in court and could be forced to pay a fine of up to $100,000 or serve up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp and his wife Amber Heard made headlines back in May for allegedly smuggling their pet dogs into Australia. They are now facing a series issue as the consequence since Heard has been summoned to appear in court over the allegations.

The 29-year-old actress was charged with two counts of illegal importation contrary to the quarantine act and one count of producing a false document. She could face fines as high as $100,000 or as long as 10 years in prison if found guilty.

Heard had been accompanying Depp who is filming his upcoming movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" Down Under. They allegedly illegally snuck their pet dogs, Pistol and Boo, in their private jet when they flew to Australia in May.

"He has decided to bring to our nation two dogs without actually getting proper certification and the proper permits required. Basically, it looks like he snuck them in," Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said at the time. "It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States."

Joyce issued an ultimatum to the pair, "Mr. Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we are going to have to euthanize them. He has now got about 50 hours left to remove the dogs. He can put them on the same charter jet he flew out on and fly them back out of our nation."

The two Yorkshire terriers were flown home a few days later.
