Lena Dunham Launches Feminist Newsletter
Celebrity

The 'Girls' creator collaborates with her production partner Jenni Konner on a weekly newsletter about feminism, style, health, politics, friendship, and everything else.

AceShowbiz - Lena Dunham announces a new project. It's a weekly newsletter called "Lenny" in collaboration with her "Girls" co-showrunner and production partner Jenni Konner. The editor-in-chief, former Jezebel and Slate editor Jessica Grose, describes it as "Goop meets Grantland."

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Dunham said of Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle website, "We love Goop. Jenni and I have always been obsessed with Goop. We feel strongly that even if some of it is aspirational, it's aspirations like 'I want to know how to take care of my body and souffle something.' "

She explained further to The Cut, "We want it to be an inclusive space. We're not making any assumptions about your identity. We're making the assumption that you're passionate and you care about other people's emotions and style and you just want to live a more connected life."

It will feature essays and articles about feminism, style, health, politics, friendship, and everything else from the contributing staff, readers, and Dunham's celebrity friends. "There's no such thing as too much information," She said on Instagram. "We will strive to bring it all to your inbox and to highlight unique voices. We sure hope yours is one of them."

We are so pleased to announce Lenny, the new email newsletter from @jennikonner & me. Feminism, style, health, politics: we will strive to bring it all to your inbox and to highlight unique voices. The newsletter will initially be self-funded by Dunham and Konner but it will eventually involve "carefully selected advertisers" and "e-commerce that collaborates with independent female artists and designers in ethical, affordable and witty apparel and design items."

Like Goop, Lenny will eventually become a website. "We worship Gwyneth," Dunham said. "She has literally been the most supportive person of this project of anyone we've spoken to."
