AceShowbiz - "Doctor Who" was another TV show that attracted a mass of sci-fi geeks at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 9. During its panel, the show debuted the first trailer for season 9, showing a bunch of old and new monsters and the returning Missy, played by Michelle Gomez in last season.
There's a shot of Doctor Who and Clara running away to save themselves. The titular character also dramatically says in a voiceover, "I'm the Doctor and I save people." Towards the end of the video, he's surprised to see Maisie Williams' character who says, "What took you so long, old man?"
Teasing about the new season, star Jenna-Louise Coleman said, "There's a freedom, I think... It's our glory years. It's really adrenaline-fueled. It's all about pushing the adventure right up to the edge." She added about the dynamic between her character and Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who, "Clara teaches him how to interact with humans a little bit more."
Michelle Gomez, meanwhile, dished on her villainous character Missy, "There's a slightly different dynamic to her. There's something slightly different to her."
"Doctor Who" season 9 premieres September 19 on BBC America.
