The 'Transparent' actress has signed on to play Queenie in the 'Harry Potter' spin-off, joining Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Ezra Miller.

AceShowbiz - "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has just added Alison Sudol to its cast. According to Variety, Sudol will play Queenie in the "Harry Potter" spin-off, joining Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Ezra Miller.

Queenie is the younger sister of Tina (Waterston) and both of them are witches. They encounter Newt Scamander (Redmayne) during his travel through New York City to find and document magical creatures.

Warner Bros. recently considered Josh Gad and John Krasinski to play the last major role, Jacob, Newt's main rival. However, that is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, Miller has been tapped to play Kredan, another magical character who meets Newt on his way.

The upcoming film will mark Sudol's first feature film. She is known for her musical career as a singer-songwriter with a stage name A Fine Frenzy, but she has been collecting acting credits, appearing on TV series "Dig" and "Transparent".

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" follows Newt, the schoolbook's fictitious author in the Potterverse. Newt is described as a "magiczoologist," which in the "Harry Potter" realm is a person who studies magical creatures. Inspired by Hogwarts textbook of the same name, "Fantastic Beasts" is scheduled for a release in the U.S. on December 18, 2016. David Yates serves behind the lens and J.K. Rowling writes the screenplay.
