The 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' actor is teaming up with DC Comics' Geoff Johns to co-write a standalone 'Batman' movie which he will direct and star in.

AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck and DC Comics' Geoff Johns are teaming up to co-write a standalone "Batman" film which Ben will direct and star in, Deadline reports. Sources tell the site that the duo "are well in synch and have more than found their rhythm."

Ben and Geoff are likely to turn in a script before the end of the summer. The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor will helm his scripted adaptation of Dennis Lehane's book "Live by Night" in November. The "Batman" solo movie will begin filming after Ben completed his work in "Live by Night".

The plot of the standalone DC superhero flick would reflect Batman's character emerging after "Batman v Superman" (2016) and "Justice League" (2017). It's still unclear when the remake of the Caped Crusader film will be slotted as DC and Warner Bros. have already set a long list of superhero flicks for the next few years.

Previously, Ben told Entertainment Weekly about the possibility of him directing himself in standalone Batman movie, "I thought if I was going to direct a movie like this, which I would like to do at some point, I need to have something of a refresher course of how these movies are done."
