The 'Deadpool' actor says he's holding his daughter James perfectly now.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds has broken his silence over baby carrier controversy stemming from a Father's Day picture posted by his wife Blake Lively. Speaking to "Today" host Matt Lauer on Tuesday, July 7, Ryan admitted that he was wrong at that time.

"The baby's not properly secured in the vessel that I'm wearing there," the "Deadpool" actor said, "I'm a first-time dad, and that is not the first mistake I've made. I can guarantee you it won't be last." He noted that it was part of his learning curve as a father. "I'd never used that particular carrier before. Every other time has been perfect."

Ryan previously generated a fair amount of criticisms after Blake posted a photo of him holding their daughter James in a baby carrier. Blake captioned the photo, "Happy Fathers Day!!! ... @vancityreynolds Since the day our baby was born, I've felt so strongly in my heart that you were most likely the father. #ILoveYouSoMuchItsSilly." Some fans immediately pointed out to James' incorrect positioning in the carrier.

Ryan appeared on the show to promote his new movie "Selfless". He stars in the sci-fi thriller along with Ben Kingsley, Matthew Goode and Michelle Dockery. Directed by Tarsem Singh, the film is scheduled to hit theaters in the U.S. on Friday, July 10.
