Harry Styles: One Direction Plays Some of the 'Best' Shows Without Zayn Malik

While gearing up for the North American leg of 1D's tour, Hazza discusses how things changed without Zayn and shares a new update on his band's new album.

AceShowbiz - Zayn Malik's departure is not a big deal anymore for One Direction. A little over three months since Zayn's exit, Harry Styles assured everyone his group's doing okay and said in an interview with EW that they even played their best shows without his former bandmate.

"There have been incredible shows across Europe. Some of the best we've had!" said Harry. Of how production of the concert changed after they become a four-piece, he explained, "The only changes have been that the parts Zayn sang have been picked up by different people. Other than that, the shows have been going absolutely great."

Take "Story of My Life" for example. The song originally features a big solo by Zayn, but Liam Payne has now stepped up for those high notes. "He kicks them in the bollocks every show. He doesn't hold back," he gushed.

In the interview, Harry also gave an update on One Direction's new studio album. "We're currently recording and writing our next album, so we'll be working on that. The songs are coming together quickly, so we're buzzing with the new stuff," he shared.

"It carries a slightly new identity, but I think it's an obvious change from [last album 'Four'] in a positive way. We've branched out and worked with different writers, and we've got some great songs!" he continued.

One Direction is kicking off the North American leg of their "On The Road Again" tour next week. Their fifth full-length is scheduled to come out later this year.
