Channing Tatum Learns Card Tricks and Cajun Accent for 'Gambit'
Movie

The '21 Jump Street' actor reportedly met a famous magician to learn card tricks and met someone to learn Cajun accent for his role.

AceShowbiz - While Channing Tatum's "Gambit (2016)" won't hit theaters until October 7, 2016, the actor seems to be busy preparing for his role in the movie. Tatum has been reportedly learning some real card tricks in order to make his turn as Gambit, the kinetically charged, mutant Southern rake who is also known as Remy LeBeau.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Tatum's writing-producing partner, Reid Carolin, revealed that the "Magic Mike" star had met a real magician to teach him card tricks. "Last night we were with my friend who I went to college with, this guy David Kwong who is an incredible magician and he was teaching Chan how to throw cards and do sleight of hand and all that, so we're producing that," Carolin explained.

Kwong is a professional magician who became head magic consultant for some famous magician movies such as "Now You See Me" and "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone".

In another interview, when asked about whether Gambit would circulate around X-Men universe, Carolin explained, "This is a stand-alone movie, it's a story of Gambit, and we'll probably gradually integrate that character into the X-Men universe as we go." He added, "And this far, what characters from the X-Men Universe make into the movie we're not exactly sure yet."

In the interview, Tatum also teased that he had someone to teach him Cajun accent in order to fit his role. The hunky actor did such kind of preparation because LeBeau is a character who was raised in New Orleans and often speaks in a Cajun accent.
