The 40-year-old host gives her fans the first look at his injury, explaining how he ended up in hospital needing emergency surgery.

AceShowbiz - Jimmy Fallon took to Twitter on Friday night, June 26 to update his fans about his injury resulting in the cancellation of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" taping. Jimmy shared a photo taken from his hospital bed of his left hand heavily bandaged with a foam brace around his wrist. "Tweeting with one hand," he captioned it.

The 40-year-old TV host then explained how he ended up in hospital needing emergency injury. "Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing). #drugged #blessed," he wrote. He thanked his fans for their prayer and support, tweeting, "I'm doing well and thanks for good wishes everyone."
Earlier in the day, NBC announced on Twitter that Friday's taping of "Tonight Show", which was supposed to feature Benicio del Toro, Taylor Kitsch, and Penn & Teller as guests, was canceled due to Jimmy's injury. The studio planned to air a repeat in order to give the host time to recover.
Jimmy's rep later confirmed that the comedian "required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning. He is expected to make a full recovery."
