The new Joker has interesting gifts for his co-stars to make up his absence at the beginning of the 'Suicide Squad' production.

AceShowbiz - When "Suicide Squad" first started production, Jared Leto who is tapped to play The Joker was not around much. To make up his absence, the 30 Seconds to Mars lead singer sent gifts to everyone especially his co-stars.

"He sent [Margot Robbie] a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it - a live rat," cast member Adam Beach reveals to E! News at the premiere of "Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser". "It was beautiful. Then he sent bullets to Will [Smith] with a letter."

He also sent a video. "Basically, what he said was, 'Guys, I can't be there but I want you to know I'm doing my work as hard as you guys,' " Beach says. "The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real."

"He encompasses this beautiful man and he shows it in, 'Hello, how are you?,' but in an instant, he goes to psychotic behavior where you're in fear," the actor continues to praise Leto. "But you love him because he has both of those genuine sides."
