Hill's 'Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair', Usher's 'My Baby Just Cares for Me' and Jazmine Sullivan's 'Baltimore' have just been debuted online.

AceShowbiz - Lauryn Hill has covered several Nina Simone classics for a tribute album which will accompany Netflix's upcoming documentary "What Happened, Miss Simone?". After treating fans to her take on the legendary singer's "Feeling Good", the former member of The Fugees returned on Tuesday, June 23 with her version of "Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair".

Hill turns the original, a piano-driven ballad, into a slightly more upbeat tune. She shows off her signature vocals over the electronic beat and orchestral instruments.

The tribute album, "Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone", is scheduled to be released on July 10. Hill originally planned to record two covers, but ended up doing six. "Because I fed on this music, both hers and lovers like her, like my basic food, I believed I always had a right to have a voice," Hill said in a statement. "Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift."

Usher and Jazmine Sullivan are other names involved in the project, covering "My Baby Just Cares for Me" and "Baltimore", respectively. The two's contributions were also debuted online on Tuesday. In addition, the LP will feature Mary J. Blige, Common and Simone's daughter Lisa Simone among others.
