'Wolverine 3' Rumored to Be Based on 'Old Man Logan'
Movie

The last installment of 'The Wolverine' movie series will reportedly be based on 'Old Man Logan' storyline which will bring the clawed mutant into the twilight of his life.

AceShowbiz - After Hugh Jackman confirmed that he would don the adamantium claws again for "The Wolverine 3", rumor about the movie's storyline has emerged. The newest rumor said that the upcoming movie would be based on "Old Man Logan" storyline.

Although details of the film are still scarce, the new rumor suggested Jackman would bring his character into the twilight of his life via the "Old Man Logan" storyline from the comics. The rumor was first reported by Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzales from Heroic Hollywood during a recent appearance on Popcorn Talk. However, he noted that it was just a rumor and was not official. "It's a rumor, not confirmed," said Mayimbe. "I'm still looking into it."

The "Old Man Logan" storyline was written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Steve McNiven. It ran for eight issues from 2008 to 2009. The story was set in a future where supervillains run the world, and nearly all of the superheroes have been wiped out. The only characters involved in the story are Wolverine and Emma Frost. The rest of the characters are taken from other Marvel characters like the Hulk, Hawkeye, Mysterio and the Red Skull.

If the rumor is true, to bring Jackman's character into the older version seems to be a good choice as the actor himself has aged over the time. However, "Old Man Logan" will require some major retooling and rewriting to bring it to the big screen.

"The Wolverine 3" is set for a release on March 3, 2017 Stateside. It is expected to go into production early next year. Meanwhile, Patrick Stewart is predicted to appear alongside Jackman in the final installment of "The Wolverine" movie series.
