Lauryn Hill Covers Nina Simone's 'Feeling Good'

The former Fugees member's cover will be included on an album to accompany Netflix's documentary about Simone called 'What Happened, Miss Simone?'.

AceShowbiz - Lauryn Hill is featured in a compilation set planned to accompany a Netflix documentary about Nina Simone called "What Happened, Miss Simone?". The singer has covered the the blues legend's 1965 song "Feeling Good" and her version was shared online earlier this week as a preview of the album which is scheduled to come out on July 10.

According to Rolling Stone, Hill initially planned to cover only two songs for the album, but she ended up recording six. "Because I fed on this music, both hers and lovers like her, like my basic food, I believed I always had a right to have a voice," Hill said in a statement to Rolling Stone. "Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift."

Titled "Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone", the compilation will also include contributions from other artists like Mary J. Blige, Usher, Common, Gregory Porter, Jazmine Sullivan and Simone's daughter Lisa Simone.

"What Happened, Miss Simone?" will be premiered on June 26. The documentary will chronicle the iconic singer's rise to fame, her battle with mental illness and her musical comeback towards the end of her life.
