The screenwriter for the first two successful movies is reportedly wanted to write the script for the third installment.

AceShowbiz - Universal is reportedly assembling the creative team of "Pitch Perfect 3". The Hollywood Reporter learns that Kay Cannon, who previously wrote scripts for the first two movies, is in negotiations to pen a new story for the upcoming third installment.

It's unclear if Elizabeth Banks will return to the franchise. "The Hunger Games" actress co-produced and co-starred in 2012's "Pitch Perfect" and this year's "Pitch Perfect 2". She additionally stepped behind the lens for the second film.

There is no word either if Anna Kendrick who led the previous movies will be back for the third chapter. There was once a rumor that Hailee Steinfeld, a new addition to the franchise, would take over the movie series. Back in April before the second movie arrived, Rebel Wilson was reported to have signed on for the threequel.
