The 'American Sniper' director made an insensitive remark about Caitlyn when presenting Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson with a special award at the Saturday, June 6 event.

AceShowbiz - Clint Eastwood's attempt to draw laugh with a Caitlyn Jenner joke at the Guys Choice Awards bombed. Instead, his remark about the recently debuted transgender star was deemed inappropriate and will be removed from the telecast.

David Schwarz, Spike TV senior vice president of communications, said in a statement after the taping of the awards event on Saturday, June 6, "We will remove the reference in the version that will air." The show, hosted by "Empire" stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, is scheduled to air on June 18.

At the gala, the Academy Award-winning director made a reference to the former athlete when introducing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He compared the wrestler-turned-actor to former athletes who have become actors, like "Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody..." Instead of drawing laugh, the joke was reportedly responded with groans from the audience.

Snoop Dogg and Drake Bell previously landed in hot water following their insensitive remarks about Caitlyn Jenner. Both refused to refer to the "I Am Cait" star by her new name, with Snoop calling her a "science project."
