The 'Inception' actor has filed a lawsuit against the magazine and asked the magazine to pay him 18,000 Euros for damages and legal fees.

AceShowbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio is suing French magazine Oops! after the magazine wrote fake rumors about him having a baby with Rihanna on its May 13 edition. Adding fuel to the fire, the magazine also wrote that the 40-year-old actor didn't want anything to do with the baby.

According to French court papers obtained by Gossip Cop, DiCaprio found out the magazine's cover when he was in France for the Cannes Film Festival. The story on the magazine was entirely untrue. He demanded the magazine to pay him the maximum compensation allowed by French law (18,000 Euros) for damages and legal fees.

An owner of Oops! magazine, Frederic Truskolaski, said that he was completely shocked that the actor sued the magazine. He admitted that the magazine knew the story about DiCaprio and Rihanna was untrue. As his staff read numerous stories about the the two staying together, they didn't find any information whether Rihanna was pregnant. However, he added, "We thought she might be. We were not sure, of course."

In addition to the false baby rumors, the magazine is sued under France's strict right to privacy laws which prohibit it from printing information about DiCaprio's personal life and publishing photos of him on the street. DiCaprio's legal team has asked Oops! to print a retraction on an upcoming cover. Otherwise, they would be imposed with a 10,000 Euro fine. The first trial of this case is set for June 16.
