Margot Robbie Caught in Post-Apocalyptic Love Triangle in 'Z for Zachariah' First Trailer
Movie

Ann (Robbie) is possibly the last woman on earth who encounters two other survivors who fall in love with her in a post-apocalyptic world.

AceShowbiz - The first official trailer for an upcoming post-apocalyptic movie, "Z for Zachariah", has arrived. The trailer shows how Margot Robbie's character survives when she possibly becomes the last woman on earth.

The trailer opens with glimpses of destroyed buildings after a nuclear war. "After the end of the world, one place was spared," so reads a tagline in the trailer. Robbie stars as Ann, the only resident of a fertile valley. She encounters Loomis (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a scientist who suffers from radiation exposure and whom she teams up with. Things become complicated when another survivor, Caleb, played by Chris Pine, appears. Their friendship unravels when both Caleb and Loomis fall in love with the same woman.

"Z for Zachariah" is directed by Craig Zobel ("Compliance"). Michael Benaroya produces the movie alongside Skuli Malmquist, Thor Sigurjonsson and Joni Sighvatsson while Nissar Modi writes the script. It is set for a limited release in the U.S. on August 21.

The film is based on Pete O'Brien's novel, published posthumously in 1974. It was debuted at Sundance and got positive reviews. Producer Germain Lussier described it as "an anti-post-apocalyptic movie as it's much more concerned with human relationships than anything else going out around them." He continued, all the talent on display "almost feels wasted on a script by Nissar Modi that tries too hard to be ambiguous and introspective."
