'The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there,' Tracy fought back tears as he addressed the fatal car crash during his first interview following his 2014 car accident.

AceShowbiz - Tracy Morgan may be now in better physical condition after his 2014 deadly car crash, but the emotional damage he suffered after the accident is still pretty serious. Sitting with Matt Lauer in the Monday, June 1 episode of "Today" show, the comedian broke down in tears as he revealed his painful struggle following the accident.

"I can't believe I'm here. I can't believe I'm in front of you," Morgan told Lauer. "Just seeing the tragedy that happened, it touches me." Although he had settled his lawsuit against Walmart over the accident, he said that it didn't heal his broken heart.

"Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal," tearful Morgan said, referring to Jimmy Mack. "I mean, the case is settled, but the pain is always gonna be there for Jimmy Mack. He was a close friend of mine, a comrade in comedy. He was a loving man and he was a warm man. He was a good man. It just hurts me to see that he's gone."

"The last time I saw Jimmy, Jimmy wrote a joke for me. It was a Donald Sterling joke," he continued. "And I asked him to come to me the day before, and he said, 'I'll be there. I love you. Peace.' And we went there [to Delaware], and we did the show...And I looked to the side, and I see Jimmy standing there laughing. And that was the last time I [saw] him alive."

Morgan, who held a cane for support and was accompanied by his lawyer during the show, revealed that he planned to get back into comedy, saying, "I love comedy and I can't wait to get back to it." However, he said his current goal was "just to heal and get better because I'm not 100 percent yet," adding, "And when I'm there, you'll know it. I'll get back to making you laugh, I promise you."

During the interview, Morgan thanked his family and all his friends including former "30 Rock" co-star Tina Fey for helping him "get his spirits up." He also expressed his gratitude to his doctors and nurses for their endless care and attention during his recovery.
