Celebrity

The 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star tweets for the first time since her prison sentence began in January to thank her fans for their abundant support.

AceShowbiz - After nearly five months in Danbury Federal Prison, Teresa Giudice sent a surprising message to her fans on Twitter. On Sunday, May 31, the star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" posted her first tweet after five-month-long hiatus from the social media.

Teresa tweeted a sweet message to thank her fans for their continuous support. The post read, "Thank you everyone for all of the cards, letters, and kind words of support I love, love, love you all xo T!" Shortly after she posted her message on Twitter, many fans responded excitedly to her return to the social media. Her fans apparently have missed the 43-year-old star as her last tweet was on December 23, before her prison sentence began, when she tweeted about her daughter Gia's band performance.

The reality TV star's federal prison sentence began on January 5. The mother of four daughters pled guilty to tax fraud and was sentenced to 15 months in prison. Teresa's husband Joe Giudice also pled guilty to tax fraud. He will start his prison sentence, lasting 3.5 years, after his wife is free.

Recently, her lawyer James J. Leonard told E! News about her condition behind bars. "I think she's going to emerge stronger, more focused. She's getting back in touch with her faith. She's spending a lot of time praying in there and I think the Teresa that comes out of prison is going to wow people." It appears that the "RHONJ" star is going to be a better person after she finishes her prison sentence.
