The duo's new album blocks Taylor Swift's '1989' which rises from No. 9 to No. 2 following her big night at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards last week.

AceShowbiz - Twenty One Pilots' "Blurryface" has made its debut at No. 1 on this week's Billboard 200. Marking the duo's first effort to land atop the chart, the album released last week via Fueled by Ramen Records opens with 147,000 equivalent units, including 134,000 traditional album sales.

"Blurryface" is Twenty One Pilots' fourth studio album. Its predecessor, "Vessel", has sold a total of 265,000 and has consistently sold more than 1,000 copies per week since its release back in 2013. The consistency, according to Billboard, contributes to the huge first week sales of the band's latest full-length.

Next on Billboard 200, Taylor Swift's "1989" jumps from No. 9 to No. 2 with 91,000, thanks in large part to her big night at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. At the Sunday, May 17 event, the 25-year-old singer took home eight awards. She also debuted the highly-anticipated, star-studded music video for "Bad Blood" which has just made its way out to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

At No. 3 is last week's first placer, the "Pitch Perfect 2" soundtrack, which sells another 74,000 in its second week. Zedd's sophomore album "True Colors" is another newcomer in the top 10, arriving at No. 4 with 50,000.

Also benefiting from the 2015 BMAs, Meghan Trainor's "Title" soars from No. 12 to No. 5 with 47,000. Trailing behind is the newest "The Voice" winner Sawyer Fredericks' "The Voice: The Complete Season 8 Collection" which starts at No. 6 with 41,000.

At No. 7, Brantley Gilbert bounces from No. 69 with 39,000 following the deluxe reissue of his "Just as I Am". Another beneficiary of BMAs is Ed Sheeran's "X" that bows at No. 8 with 38,000.

Closing out the top 10 are the "Furious 7" soundtrack which falls four rungs to No. 9 with 36,000 and Jamie Foxx who collects his fourth top 10 album with "Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses" that opens with 36,000.
