AceShowbiz - Khloe Kardashian is heavily criticized for wearing a niqab. Numerous people expressed their anger on social media after she shared on Instagram on Tuesday, May 26 a photo taken while she was enjoying her time in Dubai, where Muslim women traditionally wear the garment.
"Habibi Love," the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star simply captioned the controversial picture showing her covering her head and showing only her eyes. The word "Habibi" means "my baby" or "my darling" in Arabic.
It's worth noting that foreigners who visit the country are not required to wear a niqab, so Khloe's decision to don one was deemed offensive and disrespectful by fans. One angry commenter said on Twitter, "Khloe Kardashian wears a niqab like scarf, gets admiration. When an actual Muslim wears a niqab, gets called a terrorist. Prejudice at best."
Another agreed, "Women getting killed and beaten up for wearing the niqab, but you keep pretending it's a fashion accessory, the disrespect." Another added, "Have never been more offended in my whole entire life. My sister wears the niqab and she gets vilified daily. you can wear it and it gets sexualized and praised. i am deeply offended and was a fan of yours, i am disgusted."
This isn't Khloe's first time to have been blasted for something she wears. Last year, she also infuriated people when she posted an Instagram photo of Scott Disick and a friend dressed in traditional Arabian clothing for Halloween.
