'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' Gets Reboot
Movie

Fox's 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' will get a reboot after a failed attempt at a TV series back in 2013.

AceShowbiz - 20th Century Fox is rebooting "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", a 2003 film based on Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill's graphic novel of the same title, according to The Tracking Board. The novel features various literary icons in Victorian era such as lan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Mina Harker, invisible man Rodney Skinner, Secret Service agent Sawyer and Dorian Gray.

Moore's novel, which the film is based on, centers on an off-color group of outcasts that have to team up and use their powers and skills to save the world from destruction by the evil madman Fantom. The comic version ran fifteen series and two graphic novels.

The original film which hit big screen in 2003 left both critics and audiences unimpressed. It was the last live-action film Sean Connery made before he retired. In 2013, it was being developed as a television series at FOX. "Green Lantern" producer Michael Green was attached as the showrunner, with Erwin Stoff set as executive producer. Unfortunately, the project was shut down before reaching the casting process.

The reboot will be overseen by Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly, and produced by John Davis of Davis Entertainment. As of now, the reboot details are still scarce.
