Funeral Arrangements for B.B. King Unveiled

The late blues musician will be buried next Saturday, May 30 at the B.B. King Museum in Indianola.

AceShowbiz - Funeral arrangements for the late B.B. King have been revealed. A public viewing has been scheduled for next Saturday, May 29 at the B.B. King Museum in Indianola beginning from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. A funeral service is slated to be staged the following day, May 30 at the Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.

The 15-time Grammy winner will be buried later that day in a private ceremony at the museum, which King helped develop, with a procession led from the church to the museum set to be kicked off at 4 P.M. Private graveside service for family and friends, meanwhile, will be taking place at 5 P.M. "We feel comfortable knowing his final resting place will receive perpetual care at the museum," Dion Brown, executive director of the museum, said in a statement.

B.B. King passed away peacefully in his sleep at 9:40 P.M. PDT last Thursday, May 14 at his home in Las Vegas. He was 89 years old.

It was previously reported that a public viewing and private service for family members of the late blues musician will be held this coming Friday, May 22 at Palm Mortuary West in Las Vegas. A private funeral will be held the following day, May 23 at 11 A.M. at a larger Palm Mortuary chapel in downtown Las Vegas.

King's body will be then flown on May 27 to Memphis, Tennessee, for a musical tribute scheduled for 11 A.M. that day in W.C. Handy Park on Beale Street. After that, his body will be driven to Indianola, Mississippi, which King considered his hometown.
