Rebel Wilson Fires Back at an Australian Magazine for Age-Shaming Her
Celebrity

'OMG I'm actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as 'CC Chalice,' ' Wilson jokingly responded to report claiming she was lying about her age.

AceShowbiz - Rebel Wilson reacted to recent report made by Woman's Day magazine that she lied about her age. The "Pitch Perfect 2" actress ripped the Australian press for the age-shaming via Twitter on Monday, May 18.

Earlier this week, the magazine reported that Wilson's real identity was so much different from stories she had told. A former high school classmate of Wilson allegedly told the magazine that the comedienne was actually 36 years old, not 29 as what people believe. The unanimous source also revealed that Wilson's real name was Melanie Elizabeth Bownds and she was from an upper-middle class family.

After learning of the erroneous report, Wilson turned defensive, slamming the publication in sarcastic tweets. "OMG I'm actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as 'CC Chalice,' " so she wrote. "Thanks shady Australian press for your tall poppy syndrome."

In a follow-up post, Wilson wrote another hilarious message. "Okay but all jokes aside now...my real name is Fat Patricia x," so the message read.

In "Pitch Perfect 2", Wilson reprises her role as a college student named Fat Amy. The movie also stars Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld and Brittany Snow in the lead roles. Directed by Elizabeth Banks, the movie was premiered in U.S. cinemas on May 15.
