The actor, who is best known for his role as Mike Chang on 'Glee', will portray Magnus Bane, the high warlock of Brooklyn.

AceShowbiz - Harry Shum Jr. has joined the cast of ABC Family's upcoming epic saga "Shadowhunters". The "Glee" alum will star alongside Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa, Matthew Daddario and Alan Van Sprang.

Harry will portray Magnus Bane, the high warlock of Brooklyn. Magnus has an eccentric style. He is fierce, cunning and holds his cards close to his chest. Although he looks like a man in his 20s, he's actually hundreds of years old, making him both wiser and wary of others.

Set in the world where fairies, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves exist, the series follows 18-year-old Clary Fray (Katherine), who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters - human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. She later begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

"Shadowhunters" will be produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG, who will also direct the first of thirteen episodes.
