High School Teacher Screens 'Fifty Shades of Grey' as Reward for Students
Movie

Students at Hampshire High School watched the erotic movie after convincing their teacher to let them watch it as an in-class reward.

AceShowbiz - A teacher of a West Virginia high school screened erotic movie "Fifty Shades of Grey" in classroom. She agreed to screen the film after students convinced her to let them watch it as a reward for their good behavior.

The teacher claimed that she was not familiar with the movie. She even didn't know what the movie was about. The Hampshire Review reported the screening request was made by a class consisting of female juniors and seniors. A female student took a DVD copy of the movie which stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan to school.

Hampshire High School principal Jeff Woofter told the newspaper, "Fortunately, an assistant principal walked by and saw what they were doing." He said that the movie was screened for 10 minutes before being stopped. Fortunately, none of the sexually-explicit scenes were shown.

It is unclear if the students or teacher will be punished since school policy doesn't allow students to watch movies during class, regardless of rating. Woofter told the newspaper, "I will say it was an extreme lack of judgment from an otherwise very capable teacher. The teacher didn't do a background check on the movie or even ask about it."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is an adaptation of E.L. James' erotic book of the same title. Two sequels also based on James' novels, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed", are slated to be released in theaters in February 2017 and 2018, respectively. On April 30, the first teaser trailer for "Fifty Shades Darker", was released.
