Jay Baruchel to Direct and Star in 'Goon' Sequel 'Last of the Enforcers'

The 'Man Seeking Woman' actor will direct, write the script and reprise his role in 'Goon: Last of the Enforcers'.

AceShowbiz - Jay Baruchel will serve behind the lens as he makes his feature directorial debut in "Goon: Last of the Enforcers". According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baruchel will also take part to star in the film which is a sequel of 2011 sports comedy, "Goon".

Seann William Scott will return to reprise his role as Doug "the Thug" Glatt in a story that sees his team, the Halifax Highlanders, reuniting with a host of new players during a pro lockout. In addition to directing, Baruchel will reprise his role as Glatt's best friend and confidante. Besides, he also worked on the script, co-writing it with Jesse Chabot.

The film will be produced by David Gross, Jesse Shapira and Jeff Arkuss of No Trace Camping and Andre Rouleau of Caramel Films. Evan Goldberg is executive producing.

The original "Goon" was based on a book entitled "Goon: The True Story of an Unlikely Journey into Minor League Hockey". It was directed by Canadian filmmaker Michael Dowse.

Baruchel currently stars on comedy "Man Seeking Woman" which was recently picked up for a second season. He is also known for voice starring in "How to Train Your Dragon".
