The Weinstein Company chairman gave a sneak peak of some films by screening extended footage for each of the films at Cannes.

AceShowbiz - The Weinstein Company (TWC) held its annual preview of upcoming films for 2015 and beyond at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes. It was the first time the extended footage from any of these films was shown.

Harvey Weinstein introduced the movie and it was followed by the screening of the footage. One of the films which preview was shown was Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" that will be released on December 1. "This is my eighth film with a filmmaker named Quentin Tarantino. We've been together 22 years. It's the best marriage I've had. Don't tell Georgina," Harvey said. "And when you see this footage, you will see why. I am just the recipient of many, many good things over the years. And when you see this footage, those of you who have the movie, I think you will share my belief."

Another movie which was promoted at the event was "Southpaw", a boxing picture starring Jake Gyllenhaal and directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film indeed was accepted into the Cannes Official Selection this year but it was then agreed to be held back because Gyllenhaal became one of the jurors of the competition.

Other movies which footage was screened were "Macbeth", "Carol", "Adam Jones", "No Escape" and "Hands of Stone". Harvey spoke out that it seemed like "Southpaw" and "The Hateful Eight" were the strongest bets of this year's vintage.
