The movie's director Bryan Singer shares on Instagram the new image which shows Christopher and Katherine Anne Summers.

AceShowbiz - "X-Men: Apocalypse" director Bryan Singer posted a new behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram on Monday, May 4, revealing the parents of Scott Summer (Cyclops) and Alex Summers (Havock). The picture was taken from the film set which shows the filming process with a camera recording the scene.

The picture features a man and a woman who are seemingly in a living room. According to the caption given by Singer, the pair are Cyclops and Havok's parents, Christopher and Katherine Anne Summers. "Parents of #ScottSummers #Cyclops and #AlexSummers #Havok watch the end of the world as they know it unfold on TV #XMEN #XMenApocalypse #3ALITYTechnica," so read the caption.

The picture sparks curiosity about how Mr. and Mrs. Summers are featured in the storyline since in the Marvel comic books Cyclops and Havok's parents died in a plane crash when the brothers were children. It remains unclear whether the parents are the biological parents or foster parents of Cyclops and Havok.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is the sequel of "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Written and produced by Simon Kinberg, the upcoming film takes place in the '80s and centers on Mystique, Beast, Magneto and Professor X.

The movie is targeted for a U.S. release on May 27, 2016. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters, and Lucas Till will reprise their roles as Prof. X, Magneto, Beast, Mystique, Quicksilver, and Havoc respectively. Olivia Munn is added as Psylocke, joining other new members like Ben Hardy, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, and Lana Condor who are cast as Archangel, younger Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm, and Jubilee respectively.
