The only guest having been announced for May 8 so far, the Irish band is expected to do something special during their long-delayed visit to the late-night show.

AceShowbiz - U2 is finally coming to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". The Irish rock band, who was forced to postpone their residency on the show after frontman Bono had a cycling accident in New York, is going to visit host Jimmy Fallon and perform on Friday, May 8.

U2 was supposed to have a week-long residency on the late-night program back in November in support of their surprise album "Songs of Innocence". They, however, decided to delay it as Bono needed to undergo a surgery to repair the arm he injured in the accident.

More than five months following the incident, his injured arm hasn't fully healed. Recently the 54-year-old musician revealed that he still couldn't bend two of his fingers and subsequently couldn't play the guitar.

"It feels like I have somebody else's hand. I can't bend these [fingers], and this is like rigor mortis," he said. "But they say that nerves heal about a millimeter a week, so in about 13 months I should know if it's coming back... It's all numb here, and this is titanium. The shoulder's better, the face is better. But this is the hard bit because I can't play guitar. They [the band] don't seem to mind."

As pointed out by Stereogum, U2 is the only "Tonight Show" guest having been announced for May 8, so fans can expect something special from the rockers.
