Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin write and star on the new show, which has tapped Maya Rudolph and Jaden Smith as guest stars.

AceShowbiz - Lorne Michaels' "Brothers in Atlanta" is coming to HBO. The premium cable channel has given a series order to the new comedy from "Saturday Night Live" creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels.

Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin will write and executive produce the series, in addition to starring as struggling entertainers and best friends Langston and Moose, who are trying to navigate relationships and life in the black mecca of Atlanta.

Riddle's character Langston is described as an Atlanta native whose DJ career has stalled due to his lack of focus and his get-rich-quick schemes. Salahuddin's Moose, meanwhile, is a new Atlanta resident and perennial backup singer who dreams of the spotlight, but has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth.

Maya Rudolph is set to guest star as Shirle, Moose's demanding boss and an R&B diva whose heyday was in the 1990s, while Jaden Smith will appear as Curtis, Langston's rowdy neighbor with unpredictable interests and a mysterious income.

Tim Story who directed the pilot is on board to helm more episodes of the series. Story also serves as executive producer alongside Michaels and Andrew Singer, with Jeff Field, Doug Griffin and Anna Dokoza as producers.

Earlier this month, HBO picked up two other comedy series, "High Maintenance" which originally aired as web series, and Sarah Jessica Parker's "Divorce".
