AceShowbiz - Despite a short and perhaps disappointing funeral for Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd, "Grey's Anatomy" won't quickly shy away from making references to the late doctor. Instead, some of the characters, particularly Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), have not moved on following his death.
In a preview for next week's episode, Amelia confronts Meredith for not giving her time to say goodbye to Derek before she unplugged his machines. "I could have saved him," she tells Meredith, who replies, "There wasn't anything you could've done." Amelia tearfully responds, "How could you do it?"
Titled "Time Stops", the penultimate episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 airs Thursday, May 7 at 8/7c on ABC. In the said outing, the doctors of Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital are forced to put their emotions aside when a catastrophic event occurs.
In the latest episode which aired on April 30, the show bid farewell to Derek with a short funeral, without the presence of some family members and important people in his life, including ex-wife Addison (Kate Walsh), his sisters Nancy (Embeth Davidtz) and Lizzie (Neve Campbell), as well as his mother Carolyn (Tyne Daly).
Meredith left Grey Sloan for months as the show had time jumps to Memorial Day to Halloween to Thanksgiving. But then fans got time to mourn Derek's death when Amelia had a breakdown in the hospital, and when Meredith laid in bed alone. It was also revealed that Meredith's pregnant with their third child.
