Hulu Lands 'The Walking Dead' Spin-Off Streaming Rights

Hulu will stream AMC's 'Fear the Walking Dead' which reportedly will premiere in June.

AceShowbiz - "Fear the Walking Dead" has found an online home at Hulu. The streaming service snagged the upcoming spin-off to AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead" in an exclusive output deal with the cable channel, so the company announced at its NewFront presentation Wednesday, April 29.

"AMC Networks has an incredible reputation and track record in producing captivating storytelling across a variety of genres for true connoisseurs of television," Hulu's Chief Executive Officer Mike Hopkins said in a statement. "This huge partnership guarantees that Hulu viewers will soon be able to enjoy the newest slate of premium programming from some of the top cable networks."

The deal also includes streaming rights to new and upcoming primetime scripted series from AMC, IFC, BCC America, SundanceTV and WE tv. Series from those networks will be available on the streaming service prior to each season's network premiere.

Hulu recently also landed the streaming rights to all 180 episodes of "Seinfeld" in a deal with Sony Pictures Television which reportedly cost as much as $180 million.

They also have some original programs on the line-up, including adaptation of Stephen King's "11/22/63" starring James Franco, "Difficult People" from executive producer Amy Poehler, "Casual" directed by Jason Reitman, drama series "The Way" and comedy series "RocketJump: The Show".
