The singer called the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star an 'American Hero' before dedicating the song to him during her show in New Zealand over the weekend.

AceShowbiz - To Demi Lovato, Bruce Jenner is a true "American hero" after coming out as a transgender in an interview with Diane Sawyer aired last Friday, April 23. The singer showed her support for the Olympic gold medalist by dedicating her song "Warrior" to him while she made a tour stop in New Zealand on Saturday night.

"I just want to dedicate this song and it's so cheesy that I'm even doing this, but f**k it, whatever. I want to dedicate it to someone who became an even bigger hero last night, Bruce Jenner," she told the crowd packing the Vector Arena as shown in a video taken and shared online by a concertgoer.

"By the way, never ever thought I'd dedicate a song to him, but he was honest and he was open with his story. No matter if you agree with it or not, he probably saved so many lives and educated so many people about transitioning into being a woman and being transgender, and what that's all about. So yeah, I just want to dedicate it to Bruce Jenner," she added before starting the performance of the empowering track off her 2013 self-titled album.

Jenner confirmed in the interview with Sawyer that he's indeed transitioning into a woman. "For all intents and purposes, I am a woman," he said. "My brain is much more female than it is male. That's what my soul is. Bruce lives a lie. She is not a lie."

After the interview was aired, Lovato was among famous faces taking to social media to applaud Jenner's brave action. "So beyond brave... You're going to save lives by sharing your story.. God bless you and your heroic soul," the former Disney princess tweeted.
