A representative for Madge, Liz Rosenberg, released a statement following allegation that the singer was texting during the off-broadway performance, saying, 'It's not true.'

AceShowbiz - Madonna has set the record straight on the allegation that she was texting during off-broadway performance of "Hamilton". The pop singer denied the reports via her representative, Liz Rosenberg, on Tuesday, April 21, claiming, "It's not true."

According to recent reports, Madonna was seen using her phone several times during the first act of the show. She continued the poor audience etiquette throughout the second act. After learning of Madonna's actions, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the star, writer and composer of the show, took to Twitter on Saturday, April 18 to blast the pop singer.

"Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage #noselfieforyou," Miranda wrote, referring to an unnamed celebrity audience. However, he later deleted the post.

Following the criticism, Rosenberg gave explanation about the incident. "Madonna was not texting all through the second act," so she explained. "She really enjoyed the show by the way and she actually was invited backstage before, during and after the show."

The rep later added, "She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation."

However, actress and fellow attendee Casey Erin Clark told a different story about the incident. "That time you want to smack #Madonna upside the head for texting during the best show I've ever seen. #HAMILTONpublic," Clark tweeted on Sunday, April 19 after revealing that she had been sitting behind the 56-year-old star at the show.
