ACM Awards 2015: Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line Among Early Winners

The songbird's 'Automatic' was named Song of the Year, while the country duo consisting of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard won the Vocal Duo of the Year Award.

AceShowbiz - The 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards has officially started. The event was kicked off on Sunday night, April 19 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with Eric Church and Keith Urban teaming up for a tribute performance to country legend Merle Haggard.

Taking the stage next was George Strait who sang "All My Ex's Live in Texas" and a new track called "Let It Go". After a monologue from hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, and a performance from Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert was announced as the first winner during the telecast, taking the Song of the Year title for her hit "Automatic".

Florida Georgia Line was the next act to win an award. Just minutes after performing "Sippin' on Fire", Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard returned to the stage to collect the Vocal Duo of the Year trophy after beating out competitors including Dan + Shay, Maddie & Tae, The Swon Brothers and Brothers Osborne.

The ACMs is currently airing on CBS. More winners in various categories, including Entertainer of the Year, will be unveiled as the ceremony unfolds.
