The 'Jurrasic World' star skipped the 2015 MTV Movie Awards to take part in the half-IRONMAN triathlon in Miami.

AceShowbiz - While other celebrities were dressed up to attend the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12, Chris Pratt decided to skip the event. Instead, he was in Haines City, Miami, taking part in the half-IRONMAN triathlon on behalf of former Navy Seal and wounded veteran Mike Day.

The 35-year-old actor who was nominated for five awards for his work in "Guardians of the Galaxy" completed the triathlon in 7 hours. The race consisted of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run for a total of 70.3 miles. After swimming, Pratt came out from the chilly water shirtless before putting his helmet for bike riding.

Pratt wrote on his Facebook prior to the triathlon, "If you voted for me or #GOTG for the #MTVMovieAwards that's really awesome of you, I appreciate the support. Sadly I will be missing the show. On Sunday I'm joining former Navy SEAL Mike Day as he participates in a grueling half ironman to raise money and awareness for our nations brain injured heroes."

He wanted to be at two places at once as the triathlon and the MTV Movie Awards took place on the same day. He wrote on his Facebook, "It's the same day as the #MTVMovieAwards. I wish I could be two places at once. I decided to do this race months before the MTV nominations even came out. The movie awards undoubtedly makes for a special night. But I'm committed to this race and dammit I'm gonna do it! I hope to help raise awareness and money for a great cause and true hero."
