The second song to have surfaced from the British folk/rock band's 'Wilder Mind' album highlights their much-talked-about electric new sound.

AceShowbiz - Mumford & Sons has previewed their new album "Wilder Mind" with another new song. The British folk/rock band released on Thursday, April 9 "The Wolf" as the second taste of the forthcoming LP, which is set to hit the stores on May 4.

Unlike its predecessor, the mellow lead single "Believe", "The Wolf" is a more straightforward rock tune. The up-tempo, guitar-heavy track highlights their much-talked-about electric, banjo-less new sound as well as bandleader Marcus Mumford's vocals.

"Wilder Mind" comes to follow up the group's critically-acclaimed 2012 effort "Babel" which won the coveted Album of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

"We've had our standard line-up of instruments for the last six years and we felt like that was our palette, [but] we started picking up other stuff," Ben Lovett recently told NME of the new sound on their upcoming full-length. "It's a very natural departure from some of that rootsier stuff."

"When we started out making the record there wasn't a template or a sound that we were trying to continue," he added. "When we were working on 'Babel', 'Sigh No More' was our starting point, but we didn't start from 'Babel' and build from that for the third album."
