Series co-creator Ryan Murphy reveals via Twitter that Bates will play a character who's in charge of the titular hotel.

AceShowbiz - Kathy Bates is hired for "American Horror Story: Hotel". Series co-creator Ryan Murphy has announced that the Emmy-winning actress is returning for the next installment of the FX anthology series.
"Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. #AHSSeason5," so he tweeted on Wednesday, April 8, revealing her role in the fifth season. Bates joins Lady GaGa, Matthew Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloe Sevigny who were previously announced to star on "Hotel".
Bates first joined "AHS" in its third season "Coven" and later returned for its fourth installment "Freak Show". She won an Emmy Award for her portrayal of Delphine LaLaurie on "Coven".
The 13-episode new season of "AHS" will start shooting this summer in L.A. and is expected to debut in October. Other details of "Hotel" are still kept under wraps.
