The planned memoir will expose Arquette's 'unconventional' family life, including being a 20-year-old single mother and being a woman in Hollywood.

AceShowbiz - Creating media abuzz with her recent Oscars acceptance speech, Patricia Arquette is ready with bigger surprise, a memoir. Publisher Random House revealed on Wednesday, April 1 that the actress would write a memoir which is about to be focused on her "unconventional" family life, being a 20-year-old single mother, and being a woman in Hollywood.

"Over the years, the public has come to know aspects of me through my roles in film and television," said 45-year-old Arquette in a statement released by the publisher. "Writing a memoir will be a new and intimate artistic journey for me, and I hope to bring to it the same honesty I have always sought to bring to my work as an actor."

The memoir, which hasn't had a title and release date, will be edited by Susan Kamil. "Patricia Arquette is a remarkable woman," Kamil said of the movie beauty, adding, "And the instant empathy audiences feel when they see her work on screen is completely evident on the page. The material I read is revelatory and deeply moving. Not a surprise from an actress of such nuance and intelligence."

Earlier this year, Patricia Arquette won Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Boyhood" and made headlines when she spoke out about equality for women during her acceptance speech. She said at that time, "To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else's equal rights. It's high time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America."
