Also starring Psychedelic Furs' Richard Butler, the video was inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1835 short story 'Young Goodman Brown'.

AceShowbiz - Last week, Brandon Flowers debuted "Can't Deny My Love" as a preview of his upcoming solo album. The frontman of The Killers then treated fans to the song's official music video on Monday, March 30.

The video was inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1835 short story called "Young Goodman Brown". It opens with Flowers preparing himself for a journey while his wife, played by actress Evan Rachel Wood, begs him to stay home.

After promising her he'll come back home the next morning, he leaves and keeps walking through the streets before eventually meeting The Psychedelic Furs' Richard Butler who's later seen among several people including Wood's character engaging in what looks like a devilish ritual.

"There's a great short story from Nathaniel Hawthorne called 'Young Goodman Brown'," Flowers told Radio.com when discussing his new music video. "I read it recently. I got a book of classic American short stories. Just when we finished 'Can't Deny My Love'. I had just read it. I thought it would be great to just adapt it with the music."

"And the idea was to have it be more true to the story and have it be in the woods in the Northeast, but that did not work out. M. Night Shyamalan was supposed to do it, but it just didn't work out," he added.

"Can't Deny My Love" leads "The Desired Effect", Flowers' sophomore solo set that's coming out on May 19 on Island Records.
