Noah, who just joined the Comedy Central show as a correspondent in December 2014, is reportedly considered as Stewart's replacement.

AceShowbiz - Trevor Noah may get an early promotion on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart". Being added to the show as a correspondent last December, the South African comedian is now rumored as a possible replacement for the departing host, Jon Stewart.

Asked for comment on the news, Comedy Central tells Deadline, "We are not commenting or providing guidance on any speculation about any individuals." The network has remained mum on possible successor to Stewart, who announced in early February his plan to the exit the show.

Jessica Williams, who has been a correspondent on the show since 2012, was previously reported a candidate to replace Stewart, but she shot down the speculation. "Fact 1: I'm not hosting. Thank you but I am extremely under-qualified for the job!" she tweeted last month.

In other "Daily Show" news, Jon Stewart just bid goodbye to longtime foreign correspondent Jason Jones. Jones appeared on the show for the last time on Thursday night, March 26. "Nothing makes my job easier than knowing there is someone there who I can always go to, and always count on who's going to deliver the funny, the smart, the everything," Stewart said to Jones. "You were always that dude."

Jones is leaving the Comedy Central show to start his own show with wife Samantha Bee on TBS. His wife Bee, who is also a "Daily Show" correspondent, will next follow in his footsteps to quit "Daily Show" and host her own comedy show on TBS.
