The new song, which the duo says was written before they signed with a record label, will lead their new album 'Leo Rising' that's due out later this year.

AceShowbiz - Karmin is back with a brand new single. The duo comprising of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan debuted on Tuesday, March 24 the track called "Along the Road" and its accompanying music video via Billboard.

The mid-tempo pop song highlights Heidemann's vocals as she talks about lost love over simple acoustic guitar riffs and thumping beat produced by Noonan. "And although this is the end/ Broken hearts are meant to mend/ And I know we'll meet again/ Along the road," she sings.

"We had written the song three years ago, before we even signed with a record label or anything was even happening for Karmin," Heidemann explained the song to Bilboard. "The song has always been really near and dear to our hearts, but when we brought in this guitar player, who happens to have toured with Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, he just started playing, I started singing and we basically did the thing in one take. I was like, 'Wow, when's the last time we did something in one take that we mixed, mastered and put out?' "

The songs' music video is simple, featuring Heidemann, Noonan and a guitarist sitting on the stage decorated with numerous pairs of shoes. "We knew we were gonna shoot the video on a Wednesday, the Wednesday prior nothing was done yet. So we somehow got a thousand sample shoes from Creative Rec, which were amazing, it was perfect," Noonan said. "Then we went to Home Depot on Sunday, got all this plywood and paint, painted all the plywood black, made framing and then started drilling them in."

"Along the Road" is the first single off Karmin's new album "Leo Rising" that's scheduled for release later this year. Asked when exactly the project would arrive, Heidemann told Billboard, "Whenever we want," before adding "We're thinking fall."
