Report: Mateus Ward Auditioning for New Spider-Man
Movie

The 'Weeds' actor is rumored auditioning to replace Andrew Garfield as the new webslinger who is expected to make a cameo in 'Captain America: Civil War'.

AceShowbiz - A candidate for the new Spider-Man may have been revealed. According to Badass Digest, "Weeds" actor Mateus Ward has auditioned for the coveted role in the untitled new Spider-Man movie. Rumor has it, the audition was so secret that it was held at a private residence instead of a casting office. Marvel is reportedly looking for a 16 or 17-year-old actor to take on the role.

The webslinger is rumored to appear in Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" which will begin production soon. There is no official confirmation regarding the cameo, but the "Captain America 3" helmers Anthony and Joe Russo have signed a three-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment who owned the movie rights to Spidey.

After his appearance on Marvel Cinematic Universe, the rebooted Spider-Man is expected to get his own solo film at Sony with Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods") at the helm. The director was previously hired to helm "The Sinister Six" but it was benched along with another Spidey spin-off, "Venom", after the lukewarm response of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2".
