The first Little Leaguer to land the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine will serve as a consult on the biographical movie.

AceShowbiz - The life story of Little League pitching sensation Mo'ne Davis will be adapted by Disney Channel in a movie called "Throw Like Mo". The 13-year-old sports prodigy becomes the first female to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series and the first Little League member to land the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine. She will serve as a consult on the movie.

"There are so many great things happening to me right now," Davis said, "and it's a very exciting time in my life. A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me. I can't wait to get started, and I hope it will encourage other viewers to believe that dreams really do come true."

"Mo'ne is not only a top-notch athlete in three different sports - baseball, basketball and soccer - but she is an exemplary student and someone who will remind our audiences that they can do anything with hard work, dedication and belief in themselves," said Disney Channel's Naketha Mattocks.

"We know her story will inspire audiences regardless of their age, culture or gender, and I am thrilled to have Debra, Sheldon and Justin leading the charge to bring this movie to life."
