Jill Blackstone was initially booked on murder charges and taken into custody after being released from hospital following an alleged suicide pact gone wrong.

AceShowbiz - TV Producer Jill Blackstone was taken into custody on Monday, March 16 on suspicion of first-degree murder after her sister Wendy, who was deaf and partially blind, was found dead. Wendy's body was discovered in an enclosed garage of the home the sisters shared.

Jill, 52, was initially booked on murder charges and held on a $1 million bail, but the former producer of "The Jerry Springer Show" was released without charges on Wednesday after Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office asked police to conduct further investigation.

The cause of Wendy's death hasn't been determined pending toxicology results, but she seemingly died from carbon monoxide from a BBQ grill which was found at her feet. Wendy, 49, was reportedly holding a handwritten suicide note, but police believed the note was written by Jill.

TMZ reports Jill told paramedics she had also passed out but managed to call a friend for help after she was awake. According to the friend who called 911, Jill's speech was slurred on the phone. Jill was hospitalized for 2 days with severe carbon monoxide poisoning and was arrested after her release.

"[There was] probable cause to book her for murder," a LAPD detective told FOX411. However, a spokesperson for the DA's Office said, "She was released because we asked for further investigation and we didn't file and charges."

Stephanie Cohen, 60, who lives across the street from the Blackstone sisters in Los Angeles told The Daily Mail, "The police were here for 12 to 14 hours on Saturday. We were told they were investigating a double suicide, an attempt, and one of the people died."

Stephanie's husband Dennis, 68, added, "Around 4 P.M. they brought Jill out and she was conscious and she was sitting up, but they didn't bring anyone else out. Then they brought out one of the dogs, wrapped in a sheet."

"They were having a hard time finding a new home because the sister that died was very ill - she couldn't see, she couldn't hear, she was housebound, she was very ill. So she needed to find a house that could accommodate her sister with the illness and the dogs. Evidently the pressure was intense on them, but nobody expected this to happen," Stephanie said.
