The actor is back in Pee-Wee's suit and bowtie as he's reprising his iconic role in the upcoming movie.

AceShowbiz - Pee-Wee Herman, or Paul Reubens' alter ego, has shared a first on-set photo from "Pee-Wee's Big Holiday". The actor returns to channel his iconic character for the Netflix movie, which began filming on Monday, March 16.

"Wow, am I tired! Just finished the second day of filming. Hitchhiked yesterday all day. Got a ride, hitchhiked some more, then got another ride. A lot of traveling in two days!" he wrote on his blog, teasing the movie's plot. In the image, he is seen sitting in the passenger seat of a car on the road.

The new and third "Pee-Wee" movie is dubbed "a road-trip movie across the country." Reubens recently told EW.com, "It's very similar in style and tone to 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure'. But it's not about a bicycle. I never really thought of 'Big Adventure' as a family movie, but I didn't try to make an adult movie or a kid movie. We wanted to make something that appealed to a wide age range, and I think that's the case with this movie also."

He also revealed that an actor who starred in the previous film would return, but as a new character. "I think there may be an actor returning, someone who's familiar, but not as the same character. None of the characters are recurring ones," he said.

Reubens teams up with Judd Apatow to produce the film. Netflix has nabbed the rights to distribute it, but has not set a release date just yet.
