Foster is in talks to portray the role of villainous Bertrand Zobrist, 'who is obsessed with Inferno and has also dreamed up a plot to solve the world's overpopulation problem by releasing a virus.'

AceShowbiz - Director Ron Howard is about to add one more actor into his upcoming directorial feature "Inferno" as Ben Foster has been in negotiations to star. The film hunk is eyeing the role of villainous Bertrand Zobrist, "who is obsessed with Inferno and has also dreamed up a plot to solve the world's overpopulation problem by releasing a virus," The Hollywood Reporter reports.

"Inferno", the latest film based on the works of "The Da Vinci Code" author Dan Brown, will center its story on Robert Langdon who is "drawn into a conspiracy to unleash a deadly plague centered on Dante's Inferno, the 14th century epic poem about the nine circles of hell." Tom Hanks will be reprising his role as symbologist Langdon. Felicity Jones, Omar Sy, and Irrfan Khan also are in the cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting on "Inferno" is set to take place in Europe next month with Brian Grazer producing and Anna Culp exec producing. The film is set to be released in the U.S. on October 14 next year.
