Suge's new lawyer Matthew Fletcher says after the fatal hit-and-run incident, Terry Carter's family asked police if they had Terry's gun.

AceShowbiz - After a surveillance video of Suge Knight's fatal hit-and-run was released on early Monday, March 9, a TMZ photographer caught up with Suge's new lawyer Matthew Flethcher. The photographer asked Matthew about an object picked up from Cle "Bone" Sloan after he was struck by Suge's truck.

Matthew hinted that the object was a gun, saying, "When the last time you saw someone reached out and pulled something out of the back of the waistband, which is happened to be a square object, and then slide it in the back of the waistband..."

He added, "There's also a call when [Terry] Carter's family called the police department, asking, 'Where's my father's gun.' I think it's clearly a gun." When asked if he thought the surveillance video was an exoneration, Matthew replied, "I think it is."

Sources close to Suge told the site that after Terry was pronounced dead, his daughter "showed up to retrieve his car and noticed his gun wasn't inside a bag in which it was routinely stored." According to the site, Matthew plans to use the gun reference to prove his client was ambushed by gunmen.

Terry's family, meanwhile, said Suge was not engaged in self defense during the incident. The family's lawyer told the site that Suge intended to hit Cle and Terry ended up as collateral damage. "The death was caused by unnecessary acts of violence initiated by Cle [Bone] Sloan attacking Mr. Knight and Mr. Knight choosing to retaliate by using his motor vehicle as a deadly weapon," the lawyer said.

The lawyer said Suge was lying when he said Terry was the one who set him up for the meeting, adding that Terry didn't do anything to provoke the situation.
